We happened to find Tatami in Sookmyung Women's University (near Yongsan station), a restaurant that serves cute little Bento lunches.

부라더#소다 is a carbonated soju soda (3% alcohol) that has been appearing at Korean convenience stores as of late.

NYC Trip Recap

Hi, Quick recap of my trip to New York City. It was a crazy whirlwind of a trip. Had so much to do, people to see, and, on top of that, there was a 14-hour time difference (thank you daylight savings time). I managed to go to almost all of the boroughs. I spent most of my time in Manhattan, but also managed to go to Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. The Bronx barely counts. I just went there to go to Target to buy toothpaste and vitamins. As stupid as it sounds, the thing I miss the most while in Korea is American toothpaste. I haven't quite gotten desperate enough to get a Costco membership, but I can feel that may happen soon enough, especially if I stay here much longer. Question: When you are abroad, what do you miss the most? For me, Target, toothpaste with fluoride, and reasonably priced vitamins. New York Travel - Where to go?

I've been extremely busy with work for the past 1.5 months, so I have neglected this blog. So sorry! The major deadline has passed, FINALLY! I will try and update very, very soon with some more food in Seoul. In the meantime, anyone have any recommndations for what to do in NYC? It has been about 1.5 years since I was there last! I can't believe it!! Where did the time go? So, I'm sorely behind on the cool stuff to do there. I will be in NYC from November 7~14! Just a quick trip! My friend and I stopped by Dongdaemun after stopping at Gwangjang Market for bindaedduk  to get Remicone's crazy photogenic Thunderbomb Ice Cream at its Doota location. UPDATE APRIL 2017: The Dongdaemun Doota location has closed and it is now a Shake Shack. You can still find Remicone in Garosugil.

Bonggu Beer (봉구비어) is a chain of beer and fries pubs (?) that popped up a few years ago. It was famous at first for it's draft "cream beer" and frites.

Jeonju Free Foreigner Shuttle Bus: Update #2

So, finally went on the free foreigner shuttle bus. This is my experience, but it may differ depending on the day. Well, it will definitely differ depending on the day you travel. Some of what happened was definitely...UNIQUE, or I should hope it is unique. Shuttle Update 1 Shuttle Announcement UPDATE: It appears that this free shuttle is no longer available and is now replaced with a 20,000 KRW bus instead. I traveled to Busan this past weekend for the long weekend. While I was there, I was introduced to Compose Coffee by my friend. It's apparently a chain in the south, I have yet to see a location in Seoul.

A few years ago Nippong Naeppong, a fusion jjamppong and pizza restaurant, opened in my neighborhood, I was living in Gwangjin-gu in Seoul. Now it's a major chain and still going strong.

Hello everyone, I am back from my brief hiatus. I finally got all settled into my new life back in Seoul. I recently moved into my apartment, got my internet set up, and started exploring my new neighborhood. It took a while to decide where I wanted to live, there were just so many decisions to make! With that being said, I moved to a brand new area for me, so it means I am going to be having a lot of new food adventures, so stay tuned! My new job is going well and I am started to get readjusted to "Seoul life." I'll be trying to do a mix of backblogging on my US adventures and new adventures in Seoul/Asia. Dotonbori in Osaka is the quintessential Osaka view. If you're planning on going to Osaka, make sure you stop by to have your picture with the Glico Running Man . It's a tourist must-do.

The Jeondong Catholic Cathedral in Jeonju is located right on the edge of the Hanok Village and is definitely worth a visit.

Seoul Free Bike Rental

I just found out this really great information about free bike rental in Seoul. Reposting this very valuable information (with some editing) from Community Korea . Community Korea often posts very valuable information, so you should definitely follow them on Facebook. All it takes is an ID (student ID, ARC, or passport). Your ID will be returned to you when you return the bicycle to the facility.

Jeonju in Jeollabuk-do (North Jeolla Province) is a major food capital of Korea and is a center of traditional Korean culture. While you're there, make sure to get some of these twisted breadsticks!

109 House is a combination cafe and pension located on Ganghwa-do Island. The views are ridiculously gorgeous and I highly recommend stopping here for a refueling stop or to stay the night!

The last stop on my day trip to Ganghwa was to go to Chungnam Seosan Jip (충남서산집) to eat the famous horse crab stew ( kkotgetang, 꽃게탕). It far surpassed my expectations.

Ganghwado is really beautiful and is a great daytrip from Seoul! It is actually RIGHT by North Korea and you can actually see North Korea from some parts of the island.

I just love Mim's Cafe in Saint Paul, right by the Saint Paul Student Center on the University of Minnesota's Saint Paul Campus.

[Korea Shopping] Must Buy Item - Korean Exfoliating Cloth

There are a few items that are super great to get in Korea. One of these items are Korean exfoliating cloths!

[Saint Paul] Como Park Zoo and Conservatory - Sunken Garden

Even in the dead of winter, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory's Sunken Garden is beautiful, peaceful, and warm. Seriously, look at that! Can you imagine the windchill was -40F that day?

[Seoul - Gangnam] I Have A Dream - Strawberry Pizza (Gangnam Restaurant 아이해브어드림)

I Have A Dream is a nice blind date spot and jazz bar by Gangnam station - directly at the station.
