[NYC - Harlem] Dinosaur Bar-B-Que - All my favorites

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is one of my favorite places to get American BBQ in the city.

It's about a 2-minute walk from Bierstrasse, so plan your night accordingly. Either go to Bierstrasse first for some beer and then head over to Dinosaur BBQ for food or vice versa. Your choice!

So, I'll have some more posts later about other visits and future visits to Dinosaur when I've ordered platters (ambitious, I know).

I've realized that the best option is to get tons of appetizers. You can sample a ton of food (I'll post more appetizer posts later, too, I'm sure) and it's actually the perfect amount of food.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is famous for it's portion sizes. I've definitely gotten a platter before and had to take home half. So, if leftovers are your thing, definitely go for a platter.

These are the BBQ Salmon Fritters. This was something I've never tried before, but my friend was interested in checking it out. It's definitely a unique option. I was pleasantly surprised, actually. I am not sure I'd order it again, but if if you're more of a fish eater than a meat eater, you may enjoy trying this out.

I expected it to be covered with barbecue sauce, but I was mistaken. I can't say I was upset that it wasn't smothered in sauce, though. I think that it would have been a super overwhelming flavor and, this way, you can always add your own sauce to your liking.

This time, I got a cocktail. I think it was the Goldrush. I usually go for the Donkey Punch and would definitely recommend the Donkey Punch for your visit.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has a full bar and has a lot of beers and ciders on draft. My friends and I have also gotten a flight before, so that's also an option for you.

Sometimes you just need nachos. One of my friends and I were just texting about nachos and now I remember that I need to go back to Dinosaur for nachos.

The vegetable toppings on the nachos here (like the jalapenos and tomatoes) are pretty darn fresh. This isn't a spicy nachos by any means. You can choose to add brisket or pork to the nachos for an extra fee, but I got the base nachos.

It's topped with chili, onions, jalapenos (not spicy), tomatoes, and a chipotle sour cream.

It's just the right amount of toppings. The nacho chips don't get soggy, which is everything, seriously.

My dream dinner includes those nachos above and a large order of the jumbo chicken wings. I love the Wango Tango flavor. It's just the right amount of spice, combined with some fruity sweetness.

The wings are pretty big and meaty. Definitely give you two thumbs up for these wings.

Seriously, as I sit here writing this post, I am kind of planning my next visit back to Dinosaur for the wings and nachos.

They also offer delivery. I've done it before since I'm in the delivery radius. The prices are slightly elevated for delivery and the portions are slightly reduced.

BONUS TIP! Save your receipt! There's a survey on it. After you complete your survey, you can bring it back to the restaurant on your next visit and get a free bottle of sauce to bring home! Seriously, it's so good. I actually was terrible once and stockpiled a couple of receipts and ended up walking away with 2 bottles (I'm not sure how many they'll give you at one time, but I didn't feel judged when I asked to redeem 2 receipts).
