It's not hipsterized or all for the gram, like the other place in Chinatown (I will write about that place next week, so stay tuned.
The ice here is so light! The flavor is throughout and doesn't taste like artificial syrup (yuck). I got the Hojicha Kakigori. If you haven't tried hojicha yet, let me try to explain it (as a side note, the hojicha KitKats only available in Kyoto are one of my favorite KitKat flavors of all time). Hojicha* is roasted green tea. It's got kind of a smooth, yet earthy flavor, but doesn't taste like dirt. The roasting process brings out the tea flavor even more. The tea, when steeped, is a brown color, much like the color of this kakigori.

The flavor is very fresh and clean, much like the atmosphere and decor of the shop itself.
If you are left wanting more, you can also opt to get the Dorayaki (Japanese stuffed pancakes), Monaka Ice Creams (ice cream sandwiches with unique flavors), fruit sorbets, or any of the plentiful beverages.
There are also Strawberry and Matcha flavored Kakigori available and they are more "instaworthy" options if you are looking to spruce up your feed.
I would highly recommend checking out The Little One on your next trip!
