[NYC - Midtown] Magnolia Bakery - Banana Pudding and Salted Caramel Banana Pudding (July flavor)

Had a craving for banana pudding the other day, so that means one thing...a trip to Magnolia Bakery!

We got two flavors to test out for you - the original (my favorite) and the monthly special for July (salted caramel).

Here's a horribly out of focus picture of the menu info. The cost is the same regardless of which flavor you choose. The special flavor rotates monthly. For the month of July, it was Salted Caramel Banana Pudding.

We opted for a small size of each. A small size is $4.25 and is more than enough for a sweet treat. We went to the Rockefeller Center location at about 9:30PM and were worried that it may be closed, but when we got there, there was still a line out the door - it was open until midnight, if you're curious. Check the hours of each location here: https://www.magnoliabakery.com/locations
There were only 3 of the small size original flavor and about 8 of the salted caramel flavor left when we arrived and placed our order. So, if you're trying for a big order, you may want to go earlier in the day. Most of the tourists in front of us ordered the large sizes ($7.25).

This is the salted caramel. It does look slightly different when held side-by-side next to the original. The flavor was very unique. You could taste the salt and the caramel. Definitely expect to taste very sweet caramel flavors, though. I was expecting it to be a more milky, buttery caramel flavor.
This is the original banana pudding packaging with a more realistic size scale. I don't know volumes, but I'd say it's about the same size container as you'd get if you get a single scoop of ice cream, but less food, obviously since it's not scooped over the top of the cup.

I failed to take a picture of it for you before I almost decimated it because I was so excited to eat it. I really think you need to get this banana pudding, even if you think you hate banana pudding. It's got real pieces of banana in it and also pieces of vanilla wafers that have absorbed some of the vanilla pudding. It's not an artificial banana pudding by any means and it has actual substance to it. It's kind of a savory vanilla and not too sweet.

I definitely prefer the original one!

Let me know which flavor is your favorite. Maybe the craving will hit again in a few months and I'll try one of the other monthly flavors.

[Skincare Review] Head-to-Head Test: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair vs. La Mer The Concentrate

As promised, here is my blog comparing the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair vs. the La Mer The Concentrate. FTC disclaimer: I was sent both of these items for free in exchange for my full and honest review. I tried to be as scientific as humanly possible. I had a blinded reviewer (my mom) who was actually unaware I was even doing a skincare test, so her opinion is completely blinded and she tried really hard to give a full and honest review of differences she noticed. I did this for 2 weeks. In the 14 days before the test, I was testing out the Estee Lauder ANP product in exchange for my review. I had enough product left (and actually received a second sample to test).
