[Seoul - Yongsan] D Museum January 2016 "9 Lights in 9 Rooms"

Exterior (from official website)
The Daelim group just opened a new contemporary art museum, D Museum, in Hannam-dong. The original Daelim Museum is in the Anguk/Gwanghwamun area.

My friends and I just went to the inaugural exhibition, "Spatial Illumination: 9 Lights in 9 Rooms."
The exhibition runs through May 8, 2016.

The Hannam area is quite nice. I don't really explore that area that much, but after walking from the bus stop to the museum, I decided that I need to explore the area more in the future.

It's a very international area as many international schools and foreign embassies are located there.

Make sure you go to D Museum, not Daelim Museum. My Korean friend and I were both under the mistaken impression it was at Daelim, so it was good that I double-checked the location details after setting our meeting place.

We had been hearing good things about the exhibition on social media and were able to find discount tickets on TiMon (8,000 KRW --> 5,600 KRW).

The museum' exhibition space is actually a bit smaller than I imagined it to be. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants that occupy the other parts of the building.

I took some pictures of the exhibition, but I won't try to analyze the art...cuz that's not my expertise. I just appreciate art for art's sake.

This room was one of my favorites. Be careful not to stand in front of the projectors. There will be a staff member there who will tell you the same. Different colored lights are projected onto the surface from projectors at the back of the room.

This one also changes colors. We wanted to go inside to experience it more, but apparently you can't do that in Korea. In a book in the gift shop, it shows that you're apparently supposed to be able to go in the middle.

This room was very interactive. Have fun!
