[NYC - Midtown] Holey Cream - NYC's First Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich

I first stumbled upon Holey Cream about 2.5 years ago. It's a doughnut shop in Midtown that serves doughnut ice cream sandwiches.

I was really craving a doughnut, as one does, and ice cream. I was so excited when I found I could combine/fulfill both cravings in this HUGE use of my daily calorie count with a doughnut ice cream sandwich!

I love "hybrid food." What is your favorite food hybrid?!

You get to choose your doughnut flavor and glaze flavor. I went with a plain doughnut and vanilla glaze, but there are definitely more exciting flavors available.

The doughnut was SUPER FRESH and served hot.

Glaze options: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry

You then get to choose your favorite ice cream flavors. I chose two flavors, but I'm pretty sure you can choose up to three flavors.

The ice cream flavors are very rich and sweet, so keep that in mind, especially since this is going to be sandwiched between halves of your doughnut!

If you are not a huge fan of ice cream, you can also request to have frozen yogurt in your doughnut sandwich and save a few calories, like that even matters at this point.

The ice cream serving is extremely generous...like this was more ice cream than I eat in an entire month.

Then, you get to choose your toppings. I decided on an Oreo topping, but they also have other choices like gummy bears, cookie dough, sprinkles, etc.

There are hundreds of flavor combinations, so there is something to be enjoyed by everyone!

The doughnut sandwich is HUGE. I could barely finish half! So, I would definitely recommend sharing it!

It was also super sweet, so I was happy that I had chosen the coffee ice cream because it added a semi-bitter flavor to the sugary doughnut. Plus, what's a better combination than coffee + doughnuts?

The service left a lot to be desired. The owner was having some major issue with his delivery biker guy. There was a lot of yelling about money and stuff, which definitely affected the experience for us and was pretty unprofessional. To make up for the inconvenience, the owner gave us some lemonade, but I don't know if that really helps that much?
